Off the coast of Rottnest Island, the reef shapes the water into quiet pools and shifting passages, its darker forms visible through the remarkable clarity for which the island is known. Colour gathers in translucent bands, aqua, cobalt, indigo, each defined by depth and movement rather than boundary.

The shoreline curves toward a distant headland resting low against the horizon. Salt air and open sky hold the scene in stillness, while the tide continues its patient rhythm below.
