Returns & Refund Policy
At Harry Lea’s Art, each artwork is an original piece and is carefully prepared and packaged to ensure safe delivery. Due to the unique nature of original artworks, returns are limited to specific circumstances outlined below.
Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
All shipments include tracking and require a signature on delivery.
Valid Reasons for Return
A return, replacement, or refund may be offered where:
The item was not delivered and tracking confirms non-delivery.
The item was damaged during transit.
The incorrect item was sent.
The item materially differs from the written description (for example, incorrect dimensions listed or incorrect medium stated).
The item arrives with a manufacturing or framing fault (such as cracked glass or a damaged frame).
The artwork is damaged in a way that makes it not of acceptable quality upon arrival.
Each case will be assessed individually.
Change of Mind
Returns or refunds are not accepted for:
Change of mind
Colour preference
Size preference
Artwork not matching décor
Personal interpretation of appearance
All artwork listings include clear photographs and precise finished dimensions. It is the customer’s responsibility to review measurements carefully prior to purchase.
Colour appearance may vary slightly between screens and devices. Minor variations in tone or colour due to photography or screen display differences do not constitute a fault.
Where mock-up images are shown, they are clearly stated as presentation examples only.
Damaged or Incorrect Items
If a return is approved due to damage, fault, or error on our part:
The artwork must be returned in its original packaging where possible.
The item must be returned in the same condition in which it was received.
Return postage costs will be covered by Harry Lea’s Art.
Refunds or exchanges will be processed after the returned item has been received and inspected.
Exchanges
Where a return has been approved due to damage, fault, or error, an exchange may be offered as an alternative to a refund, subject to availability.
Exchanges are subject to the following conditions:
The replacement artwork must be of similar value.
If the selected replacement is of higher value, the customer must pay the difference prior to shipment.
If the selected replacement is of lower value, a partial refund of the difference will be issued.
Replacement items will be shipped after the original artwork has been returned and inspected.
Exchanges are not available for change of mind or personal preference.
As original artworks are unique, exact replacements are not guaranteed.
Damage Claims & Return Procedure
If an item arrives damaged, the customer must:
Notify Harry Lea’s Art within 24 hours of confirmed delivery.
Provide clear photographs showing:
The outer packaging
Any visible damage to packaging
The artwork itself
At least one image showing the artwork partially within its original packaging where reasonably possible
Failure to provide adequate photographic evidence within the required time frame may affect eligibility for a return.
Once the claim has been reviewed and approved:
A prepaid returns shipping label with tracking will be provided.
The customer must lodge the parcel using the provided label.
Proof of lodgement (postal receipt) must be retained and provided if requested.
Refunds or approved exchanges will be processed after the returned artwork has been received and inspected.
Return Packaging Requirements
All approved returns must be securely packaged to prevent damage in transit.
Where possible, the artwork must be returned using the original packaging materials provided. If original packaging is no longer available, equivalent protective packaging must be used.
The artwork must be returned in the same condition in which it was received.
Harry Lea’s Art is not responsible for damage caused by inadequate or improper return packaging. If returned artwork is damaged due to insufficient packaging, eligibility for a refund or exchange may be affected.
Lost in Transit & Delivery Issues
All shipments are sent with tracking and require a signature on delivery.
If tracking confirms delivery but the customer believes the item was not received, Harry Lea’s Art will request a formal investigation with the shipping carrier.
Customers must notify us promptly if they believe a delivery issue has occurred.
If the carrier confirms misdelivery, loss, or delivery error, an appropriate remedy will be offered in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
If delivery is confirmed to the correct address with valid proof of delivery, including signature and location confirmation, the item will be considered delivered.
