Ocean splash

A swell gathers offshore before driving hard into the rock, breaking in a burst of white spray that drifts back across the shoreline. The air carries salt and moisture, cool against skin, while the sound of the surf rolls in steady rhythm, crash and retreat, crash and retreat. The water shifts from deep blue to bright turquoise as it turns in the light, constantly moving, never settling. In the distance, the headland rises green and solid against the sky, unchanged while the sea works endlessly at the shore below.
