From the elevated edge of dense palms, the bay opened wide beneath a clear, steady sky. Limestone cliffs rose sharply from the shoreline, their pale faces broken by shadow and heavy growth clinging to the rock. The water lay flat and luminous, shifting from light turquoise near the sand to deeper blue toward the horizon.

Across the cove, vegetation softened the base of the cliffs, while the arc of shoreline held the water in a quiet, contained sweep. The scene felt still and self-contained, defined by stone, heat, and the steady breadth of sea.

Tropical limestone coasts such as this are shaped by steep karst formations and sheltered bays, where cliffs and vegetation enclose calm water and create natural harbours along warm, reef-fringed shorelines.
