Beringbooding Rock Pool

$860.00

This Western Australian Wheatbelt landscape painting captures the granite rise and hidden rock pool of Beringbooding Rock near Mukinbudin. Deep charcoal seams and warm red tones cut through the vast stone surface beneath an open country sky, reflecting the rugged beauty and quiet character of the inland Wheatbelt landscape.

Beringbooding Rock rises from the surrounding farmland, its broad granite surface holding the heat of the day beneath an expansive sky. The scale of the formation is felt more than measured, revealing itself gradually as the landscape opens across the horizon.

The pool does not reveal itself at once. Only after rounding the shoulder of stone does the green water appear, sheltered within a low curved wall built into the granite. It is not large and it is not for swimming. On a hot day, cool water around tired feet is enough. Stone, heat, and stillness gather in a place shaped by time, weather, and the natural contours of the rock.

Beringbooding Rock is one of the largest granite outcrops in the Western Australian Wheatbelt and remains a well-known landmark near Mukinbudin. The rock pool and surrounding landscape offer a glimpse into the geology, history, and resilience of the inland regions of Western Australia.
